IMPLANTS AND INDICATIONS FOR THEIR IMPLANTATION

Implantation of dental implants – Your path to a new smile

What is implantation of dental implants?
The placement of dental implants is a surgical procedure performed by a team of implantologist and dental assistant, which provides a replacement for lost or damaged teeth. During the intervention, local anesthesia is used, the same as when extracting or repairing teeth, making the whole process painless and stress-free for the patients.

Implant insertion process
The intervention consists of several key stages:
1. Preparation – detailed analysis of the condition of the dentition.
2. Anesthesia – application of local anesthesia to ensure that the intervention is painless.
3. Implantation – placement of the implant in the bone.
4. Postoperative instructions – you receive written and verbal instructions for proper care after the intervention.

The placement of one implant usually takes about 30 - 40 minutes. During your first informational visits, you will receive detailed information about the entire process. How do patients feel during and after the intervention? The intervention is completely painless, as patients feel only touch, but no pain. After implant placement, most patients do not report significant pain. The feeling after the anesthesia wears off can be a little uncomfortable, but it's more discomfort than pain.

Postoperative care and recommendations
After completing the procedure, patients receive detailed care instructions:
1. Rest – avoiding strenuous activities.
2. Cold compresses – applying ice to the operated side in 5-minute intervals.
3. Swelling – a small swelling the next day is normal and disappears in a few days.

It is important to follow all post-operative instructions to avoid complications such as infectious swelling or prolonged bleeding. Accurate and disciplined care is key to a successful recovery and a long lasting result of your implants. With proper care and following recommendations, you will ensure a successful and painless recovery process, ensuring that your new implants will serve you for many years
