MOBILE ORTHODONTICS

Mobile Orthodontics: Basics and Application

Mobile orthodontics is intended for the youngest patients who are still growing and developing. These devices can be designed for one jaw (active plates) or for both jaws (activator, bionator). Modern orthodontics is increasingly moving towards the use of the  Myobrace  system , which is a lighter variant of mobile appliances.

When wearing mobile orthodontic appliances, the cooperation and desire of the child to wear the appliance are extremely important for the success of the therapy. The braces should be worn for a minimum of 14 hours a day, and there is a screw in the device that is rotated according to the orthodontist's instructions every 7 to 10 days.

It is important to note that mobile dentures cannot completely straighten severely rotated or tilted teeth, nor teeth that have grown in the wrong place. For these anomalies, fixed orthodontic appliances are required.

Therapy with mobile orthodontic appliances usually represents the first stage of treatment, which we start at an early age. This phase corrects the position of the jaws, after which the fixed appliance is placed for the final correction of the position of the teeth and completion of the therapy. If the problem is not solved at a young age, it can become more complex over time.

Mobile orthodontics is a key tool in the early correction of dental anomalies, enabling children to develop healthy and beautiful smiles.
